I can't seem to get this programmer to actually program a chip. It will confirm that a chip is blank, and can read chips to the buffer, and can create a binary image from the buffer. Several different common chips have been tried. Things to check: There's a 'power' check option in the software to see if your USB port can supply enough power. The more bars/higher the # the better. Swap around to different USB ports to see where you get the highest levels of power. To get the most power to it use a USB hub WITH an external 5v power supply. I had to plug mine into jacks on the rear of the computer to get the highest power levels. If you still can't get it to program then the programmer may be bad and not generating the programming voltages needed (12.5v, 21v, or 25v) by the chip.
